Wings Travel Management, founded in 1992, is a specialist travel manager for oil & gas, marine and other corporate clients operating across Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East. The company needed to centralize and present disparate booking, invoice and supplier data so clients could monitor traveler safety, control spend and enforce travel policy — a task made difficult by slow, manual reporting, inconsistent queries and multi-currency complexity.

Wings deployed Information Builders’ WebFOCUS platform (with Portal, ReportCaster and a secure metadata layer) to build goData: six customer-facing, mobile-friendly analytics portals, hourly cloud-based data marts, single-currency conversion and real-time traveler maps. The result: faster, standardized self-service analytics (complex queries now run in seconds), improved compliance and cost control, enhanced supplier negotiation, and relief for Wings’ IT team from creating thousands of custom reports for roughly 200 users at 50+ client companies.
