WebFOCUS Unifies Data for Cardiac Surgery Associates

Cardiac Surgery Associates (CSA) is an Illinois-based surgical practice specializing in cardiac, thoracic, and peripheral vascular care that serves multiple regions. CSA struggled with siloed back-end systems (payroll, accounting, billing and credentialing) that forced staff to compile disparate reports manually in Excel, slowing access to critical financial and performance information and overburdening a small team.

CSA deployed Information Builders’ WebFOCUS BI platform—with InfoAssist, AppStudio, Active Technologies and ReportCaster—on SQL Server to consolidate data, build a self-service physician portal and deliver standardized dashboards and reports to internal and external stakeholders. The solution integrated credentialing and billing data, automated report distribution (including mobile Active Reports), improved visibility into surgeon and hospital profitability and RVUs, and substantially increased efficiency and timeliness of decision-making.
