NSK, Japan’s largest bearing manufacturer with more than 24,000 employees and ¥67.1 billion in annual revenue, needed to contain costs and consolidate a patchwork of disparate reporting tools that had dispersed skills and driven up license and maintenance expenses. As the company migrated mission-critical systems to an open environment, IT sought a single, easy-to-use BI standard that could support end users, power users, and global offices while enabling rapid deployment and predictable licensing.

NSK selected Information Builders’ WebFOCUS, implemented with partner Ashisuto and extended by Fujitsu’s List Creator, to standardize reporting across the enterprise. The unified solution delivered fast, global rollout and Unicode/printing support, reduced development man-hours to about one‑tenth of previous methods, and is used by more than 400 employees—resulting in lower overhead, higher IT productivity, and simpler, more efficient business reporting.
