WebFOCUS Electrifies Data Access and Analysis Operations for Panasonic

Panasonic Electric Works Information Systems (PEW) is a technology arm of Panasonic Electric Works that supports multiple autonomous business units and sought to better leverage the massive volume of corporate data to improve business performance. The challenge was to give end users faster, easier access to consolidated information for supply-chain, production and sales decisions without heavy data preparation or constant IT involvement.

PEW deployed Information Builders’ WebFOCUS across its Lighting and Operation Devices divisions, reconfiguring a data warehouse and using an intermediate server where needed, plus Harvest Enterprise for non‑SQL users and Access integration for power users. The result was faster report generation and distribution, improved inventory and production responsiveness, near‑real‑time sales visibility, higher staff efficiency and better forecasting — benefits that are prompting broader rollout across the company.
