WebFOCUS Brings Analytic Self-Sufficiency to Associated Food Stores

Associated Food Stores (AFS) is an American retailers’ cooperative serving more than 400 independently owned supermarkets across eight western states. Faced with haphazard, inaccurate one‑off reports, heavy IT workload answering individual information requests, high reporting costs, and a need to automate analytics and distribution, AFS needed a scalable, consistent way to deliver timely insights to managers and stores.

AFS standardized on Information Builders’ WebFOCUS BI Portal, InfoAssist+ and InfoApps to create a centrally managed, self‑service analytics environment with dashboards, guided reporting, role‑based security and automated alerts. The rollout gave managers a current, company‑wide view of critical metrics, freed IT to focus on development, increased business self‑sufficiency, reduced licensing costs, and put roughly 1,000 users across stores and departments on a single, drill‑down reporting platform.
