WebFOCUS and iWay Automate User Reporting at Toppan Interamerica

Toppan Interamerica, a division of Tokyo-based Toppan Printing, manufactures precoated decorative papers and relied on a small IT team to produce manual, paper-based financial, sales, and production reports. That process was slow and error-prone—users often waited two days or more for information, spreadsheets required manual data entry, and management lacked timely visibility for planning and decision-making.

Toppan implemented Information Builders’ WebFOCUS and iWay adapters to provide real-time DB/400 access, optional staging to a reporting server, and a self-service Managed Reporting environment. The change automated report generation and delivery (including Excel PivotTable exports), expanded available accounting reports from about 10 to over 100, reduced report turnaround from days to minutes or an hour, improved inventory and production planning with current data, and freed IT to focus on higher-value projects.
