Vacation.com Takes Off With WebFOCUS

Vacation.com, a leisure-travel marketing organization serving more than 5,100 agency locations in the U.S. and Canada, needed a way to deliver targeted, qualified information to internal agents and member agencies to support marketing campaigns, sales efforts and periodic promotions. Their prior reporting process relied on disparate Excel and SQL exports, creating duplicated work, inconsistent results and a backlog of ad hoc requests that slowed campaign execution and decision-making.

Vacation.com implemented Information Builders’ WebFOCUS (Reporting Server, Developer Studio, plus services and training) to deliver interactive, parameterized reports, dashboards and ad hoc tools for executives, sales and agency-facing staff. The new BI environment consolidated multiple static reports into single dynamic views, improved data validation and accessibility, cut routine search time (saving about 175 hours on one campaign), reduced ad hoc reporting and staffing needs (0.5 FTE), and made staff more self-sufficient and better able to target promotions and measure results.
