Universidad Europea de Madrid Streamlines Financial Planning and Analysis With WebFOCUS

Information Builders partnered with the Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM), a private university of more than 16,000 students, to address a common higher-education challenge: getting timely, accurate financial and operational information so administrators can control costs, align academic initiatives with strategy, and take corrective action quickly. UEM needed to extract and analyze institutional data efficiently to improve budgeting, forecasting and overall management transparency.

UEM implemented Information Builders’ WebFOCUS BI platform and a central data warehouse—using Portal, InfoAssist, Reporting Server, Managed Reporting, Developer Studio and adapters—to automate reports, real-time alerts and self-service analytics for about 150 users. The solution unified and improved data quality, cut processing time and errors by processing data once, and accelerated decision-making through better budgeting, scenario modeling and forecasting, giving managers clearer, faster insight into performance.
