Taylor University, a small private liberal arts college that depends on tuition revenue, faced the challenge of turning a 50,000-person inquiry pool into roughly 500 enrollments with a five-person admissions team while controlling discounting and improving operational and financial performance. The university needed a way to prioritize prospects, predict who would apply and enroll, and make recruitment and marketing efforts measurable and efficient.
Using Information Builders’ WebFOCUS platform with RStat and easy-to-use InfoApps, Taylor built predictive models that score prospects across about 60 variables and display results in an Admissions InfoApp for recruiters and marketers. The solution lets staff focus outreach (for example, calling a targeted 300 students per week), run targeted campaigns and maps for events, and track activities against application and enrollment outcomes—yielding more targeted, measurable recruitment, improved campaign performance, and better institutional decision-making.
