Lloyd’s of London, the world’s leading specialist insurance market, needed a cost-effective, low-risk upgrade of its legacy PC FOCUS settlement systems amid new legislation requiring collateralized letters of credit and a platform move to Windows/ethernet. The challenge was to migrate mission‑critical settlement and trust fund operations—handling millions of transactions and international payments—without disrupting daily processing or compromising security and auditability.

Information Builders implemented a custom Web-based solution using WebFOCUS, migrating existing code, adding a Direct Credit Facility, and providing full implementation, testing and support to ensure seamless integration and controls. The result: reporting and settlement processes are up to five times faster, downtime is reduced, multi-currency and multi-location processing is automated and secure, and the system remains cost-effective with minimal maintenance and strong audit trails.
