Queensway Carleton Hospital Meets Performance-Based Funding Objectives

Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH) is an urban community hospital serving about 400,000 Ontario residents with roughly 1,900 staff and 500 volunteers. Facing Canada’s performance-based funding model, QCH struggled with siloed data sources, time-consuming manual reporting (four full-time staff focused on reports), and a lack of ETL tools—making it hard to correlate clinical and administrative data and produce timely, accurate analytics.

QCH implemented Information Builders’ platform—iWay DataMigrator to streamline ETL and WebFOCUS (InfoAssist, App Studio, BI Portal, InfoApps, RStat) to create a one-stop self-service analytics portal. The new environment cut the time decision‑support staff spend generating reports, gave 75 leaders direct access to interactive dashboards and scorecards, enabled predictive planning for funding and capacity, and helped QCH meet performance-based funding and productivity goals.
