Oklahoma DHS Streamlines Casework and Addresses Reporting Requirements

The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS), the state’s third-largest agency with a $700M operating budget and $1.4B in annual distributions, needed a way to sort, summarize, and present data about thousands of clients so caseworkers could manage dynamic caseloads and the agency could meet extensive federal Child and Family Services Review (CFSR) and other compliance mandates.

OKDHS implemented Information Builders’ WebFOCUS BI platform with domain-specific data marts, dashboards, the KIDS reporting application, ReportCaster and developer tools, supported by professional services and training. The self-service reporting environment (used by 6,000–7,000 staff) lets users drill to case detail, track around 100 federal measures, improve caseworker decision-making, streamline workflows, and boost compliance and incentive payments — producing measurable operational and program improvements.
