Oklahoma Boosts Academic Success Rates With WebFOCUS

Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education oversees academic standards, degrees, funding and tuition policy for 25 colleges and universities in Oklahoma. To participate in the Complete College America initiative and track student progress, the agency needed a better way to present large volumes of enrollment, progress and completion metrics beyond rigid SQL/Excel reports so that policymakers, campus leaders and the public could access comparable, actionable data.

The Regents implemented Information Builders’ WebFOCUS suite (Developer Studio, InfoAssist, ReportCaster plus professional services and training) to build a public portal of interactive dashboards and reports (now ~20 dashboards and 15 static reports). The new BI environment enabled self-service reporting, rewritten statutory reports and broad data access; dashboards now inform funding allocations, legislative oversight and institutional decision‑making, improving productivity and statewide visibility into student outcomes.
