North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company, the largest domestic property and casualty insurer in North Carolina, needed to stop relying on labor-intensive COBOL batch jobs to move compressed DB2 data from the mainframe, make claims and payment information available via the Web, and reduce mainframe load by automating ETL and capturing only daily changes for a new data warehouse.
