Missouri DSS Standardizes on WebFOCUS

The Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS), which serves more than 1 million citizens, needed a flexible, extensible intranet reporting environment to support thousands of users across six divisions and multiple case-management systems. The challenge was to provide secure, real-time access to mainframe and warehouse data, support role-based access for supervisors and caseworkers, avoid desktop installations, and streamline information‑intensive processes.

DSS standardized on Information Builders’ WebFOCUS with iWay integration, creating a managed reporting environment and data warehouse that delivers hundreds of browser-based reports to about 5,000 users and integrates with RACF security. The solution (including ReportCaster automation) cut caseworker lookup time from dozens of screens to seconds, eliminated printing/mail workflows, reduced IT maintenance and labor costs, and improved service levels and scalability.
