Loyola University Boosts Academic Ranking and Boosts Student Retention With WebFOCUS

Loyola University Chicago, the nation’s largest Jesuit university (about 16,400 students across four campuses), needed analytics that could simultaneously access PeopleSoft/Oracle, Lawson, Sakai and other data sources and modernize more than 800 Crystal Reports into a more interactive, self-service BI environment for faculty and staff.

Information Builders standardized Loyola on the WebFOCUS platform (AppStudio, InfoAssist+, InfoDiscovery, ReportCaster, Active Reports, Portal and related services), built parameterized InfoApps and an EDW, and converted legacy reports. The result: more than 1,000 WebFOCUS users and several thousand reports in use, real-time enrollment dashboards and mobile access, improved retention and decision-making, and a graduation audit that dropped from over an hour to about 30 seconds.
