Louisiana Department of Health Creates Unified Citizen Records With Omni-Gen

The Louisiana Department of Health, responsible for delivering medical and social services statewide, faced fragmented legacy and standalone systems that made it difficult to identify and link data about citizens, providers, and locations. The agency needed a data strategy and standard processes for storage, movement, cleansing, enrichment, and access to improve data integrity, analysis, and reporting across programs like Medicaid, child welfare, and SNAP.

Using Information Builders’ Omni-Gen MDM along with data quality and integration tools, the state built master client and provider indexes and an enterprise architecture (CAFÉ and MEDS) to create golden records and a single view of each citizen. The result: faster, more consistent service delivery, simplified user access, better reporting and fraud reduction, stronger security, and reusable data services that cut costs and enable cross-agency data sharing.
