Israel’s Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs improves services for nearly 1 million citizens with Information Builders

Israel’s Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs (MOLSA) faced a challenge in improving policy-making due to inefficient data sharing and communication with its nearly 300 municipalities. Business units were spending excessive time manually gathering and resolving data instead of shaping policy. To address this, the ministry worked with vendor Information Builders using its ibi WebFOCUS software to create a common business language and an easy-to-use interface for automated reporting.

Information Builders' solution involved mapping MOLSA's data sources to the WebFOCUS platform and designing user-friendly dashboards, including an offline interactive dashboard sent monthly to municipalities. This eliminated worries about data validity and automated manual tasks, speeding up reporting and improving operational efficiency. The project was so successful it won the 2021 “Most Outstanding Computerization Project in Israel” award for BI and Reporting, enabling MOLSA to provide better services to Israel's large population.
