Halifax Health Spreads Business Intelligence Throughout the Enterprise

Halifax Health, the largest healthcare provider in Volusia and Flagler counties, needed to move beyond legacy analyst‑focused reporting (Meditech NPR, Trendstar/EPSi) to a general-purpose, self‑service BI environment that could combine clinical and administrative data from Meditech, Kronos, Allscripts and other systems and deliver real‑time, mobile, drill‑down dashboards and KPIs for clinicians and administrators.

IT built a Meditech Data Repository‑backed SQL Server data warehouse with subject‑specific data marts and deployed Information Builders’ WebFOCUS, InfoAssist, ReportCaster and Active Technology to create InfoApps, dashboards and scheduled reports. The solution produced dozens of self‑service reports (including a minute‑by‑minute ED dashboard), faster run times, mobile access and automated alerts, improving collaboration, operational decision‑making, regulatory reporting and patient care.
