A Information Builders Case Study
Gore Mutual, Canada’s oldest property and casualty insurer with roughly $400 million in premiums, $1 billion in assets, and 300 employees, faced fragmented, paper‑based reporting and reliance on spreadsheets and a few “super users” for analytics. The company needed a strategic, enterprise‑wide view of operations and faster access to timely, accurate information across underwriting, claims, finance, and distribution.
Working with Information Builders, Gore Mutual implemented a unified BI and data‑integration platform—including the Insurance Performance Foundation (IPF), WebFOCUS, PMF, DataMigrator, and iWay data quality/master data services—to create a governed common data model and self‑service dashboards. The result: pervasive analytics available to executives, brokers, managers and underwriters, improved data quality and timeliness, faster responses to trends and problems, greater operational efficiency, and lower reporting and analytics costs.
