First Industrial Realty Trust, a large U.S. industrial real estate investment trust with more than 20 regional offices, needed to give 175+ employees and external stakeholders secure, on-demand access to property, tenant, leasing, legal, and financial data. Their legacy Crystal Reports environment forced users to jump between multiple applications and manually consolidate data in Excel, limiting productivity and usability.

First Industrial deployed Information Builders’ WebFOCUS with iWay DataMigrator, adapters, an Oracle data warehouse and a customizable portal to create a unified, Excel-integrated BI solution. The new system replaced most legacy reports, cut report run times from minutes to seconds and reduced a quarterly two‑week staging process to two days per month, boosting employee self-sufficiency, reporting consistency and overall productivity while enabling dashboards, document links, single sign‑on and future GIS and scheduled-reporting capabilities.
