EllisDon Connects Data Sources for Mobile App Strategy

EllisDon, a Canadian construction services company managing large projects worldwide, needed a way to simplify connections between on‑premises and cloud systems as it launched Gate Three, a new SaaS project‑management platform and mobile app ecosystem. The team faced integration challenges linking Gate Three’s MySQL‑based front end to legacy DB2 financial systems, exposing enterprise data to smartphones and tablets, and centralizing document storage and delivery.

EllisDon implemented Information Builders’ iWay Service Manager as an integration/service‑layer and ESB to automate transmission, transformation, and monitoring of project, timesheet, invoice, and purchase‑order data (via SOAP and REST/JSON). iWay links Gate Three to back‑office systems and Google Cloud Storage, enabling mobile document submission, validated workflows, real‑time reporting, and scalable transaction processing—streamlining procurement, accounting, budgeting, and reducing development effort while supporting thousands of daily transactions and future user growth.
