City of Richardson Goes Mobile With WebFOCUS

The City of Richardson, a Dallas suburb of more than 100,000 residents, partnered with Information Builders to extend its successful WebFOCUS BI strategy into the field. The challenge was to make timely, actionable data available on mobile devices for diverse city workers—fire, police, inspectors, planners and others—so they could perform inspections, respond to emergencies and manage services while away from the office.

Richardson deployed WebFOCUS with Mobile Faves, Active Technologies and GIS integration to deliver mobile reporting, mapping and analytical apps—enabling real‑time 911 tracking, hydrant status maps, inmate queries, inspection benchmarking and property research on tablets and phones. The mobile rollout increased field efficiency, improved resource allocation and service delivery, and boosted resident satisfaction while supporting ongoing city growth and operations.
