City of Cincinnati Builds Pervasive Reporting Network With WebFOCUS

The City of Cincinnati modernized its reporting and information-delivery capabilities to serve nearly 1,000 users across Finance, Waterworks, Sewage, and other departments. Facing limited resources and a paper-heavy, manual reporting process, the city needed a trusted BI solution to provide web-based, self-service access to certified financial and operational reports from the intranet.

Information Builders’ WebFOCUS (with Professional Services and ReportCaster) delivered a parameterized, intranet reporting site with Excel export, automated scheduling, bursting, and e-mail distribution. The rollout enabled nontechnical users to run ad hoc and standardized reports without IT, automated the daily distribution of thousands of pages, eliminated extensive manual printing and routing, reduced staff workload, doubled the number of self-service report creators, and improved decision-making and city services.
