City of Charlotte Addresses Data Deficiencies With iWay

Information Builders worked with the City of Charlotte to address fragmented and inconsistent address data that was causing redundant work, service delays and extra costs across departments (from code enforcement to garbage pickup and citizen notifications). Without a centralized, validated address repository, errors and duplicates propagated through business systems, hampering routing, mailings and field operations.

Using iWay Master Data Server, Service Manager and professional services, the city automated profiling, cleansing, matching, merging, enrichment and monitoring of address records, processing ~1.3 million source records into 553,103 consolidated “golden” addresses enriched with USPS labels, x/y coordinates and tax metadata. The master repository now feeds consuming systems (initially Solid Waste/Cityworks and the CharMeck 311 CRM) via iWay integration, improving address accuracy, geo-coding precision and customer service while eliminating duplicate records and creating a single trusted source for city operations.
