A Information Builders Case Study

BI Improves Services for Those In Need

Information Builders, a provider of business intelligence and integration software, partnered with the Ministry of Alberta Seniors and Community Supports — which serves roughly 385,000 seniors and 37,000 people with disabilities — to address slow, fragmented reporting. Processors had limited access to client data and managers lacked visibility into worker performance, which delayed client requests and made it hard to proactively manage services and accountability.

The ministry deployed WebFOCUS with iWay Service Manager and content-management integration, using iWay adapters to combine data from multiple systems and going live in 60 days. The solution gives role-based access to a universal client view, supports OCR and GIS workflows, and enabled rebate processing to jump from about 75 documents per day to 75 per hour; it also balanced workloads, exposed payment delays and postal issues, and improved service speed, transparency and accountability.
