Asset-Based Lending Division Creates Secure Reporting Portal for Customers

RBC Royal Bank’s Asset-Based Lending (ABL) division needed a secure, real-time way to provide customers with loan status information without copying sensitive data to a vendor’s servers. Faced with security concerns and high vendor costs, the bank sought a vendor-independent reporting solution that could operate entirely behind its firewall and give customers self-service access to up-to-the-minute loan and collateral details.

Using Information Builders’ WebFOCUS installed on RBC’s servers, the bank built a secure web reporting portal that delivers live loan-status reports, reduces manual faxing, and preserves data confidentiality. The solution rolled out to a growing portion of ABL customers, improved operational efficiency, is easily scalable and vendor-independent, and cost 66% less than the ABL vendor’s alternative.
