Florida Atlantic University, a public research institution serving more than 30,000 students in southeast Florida, needed to standardize analytics university-wide to ensure consistent reporting, meet regulatory and accreditation requirements, and respond to the state’s shift to performance-based funding focused on outcomes like graduation and employment.

FAU implemented Information Builders’ WebFOCUS platform—including ReportCaster, InfoAssist+, and InfoApps—and built a Dartboard BI portal that integrates Banner, a SQL Server data warehouse, Workday, and other sources. The solution automated compliance reporting, delivered self-service dashboards and predictive models to identify at‑risk students, improved financial and operational visibility, reduced manual work and printing, and helped FAU achieve the top ranking among Florida’s public universities under the Board of Governors’ performance-based funding rubric.
