University of New Orleans Increases Student Enrollment and Improves Retention

The University of New Orleans, a research-focused public university serving a diverse student body, faced fragmented and hard-to-access student and employee data across legacy on-premises systems and cloud apps. Extracting 20 years of Oracle PeopleSoft ERP history for reporting was slow and manual, hindering analytics for enrollment and retention and creating a tight timeline to migrate to Workday while preserving historical data and improving information security.

UNO implemented Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (Cloud Mass Ingestion and Cloud Connectors) to ETL data from Salesforce, SQL Server, Workday and Oracle into a Snowflake data warehouse on AWS. The team ingested 600 GB and thousands of complex tables quickly, cut ETL effort by ~90%, accelerated the Workday migration by two months, enabled reports in hours instead of days, democratized access to analytics, improved data quality and security, and reduced operating costs.
