A Informatica Case Study
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill wanted to fully participate in UNC Online, a system-wide program that lets students at any of the 17 UNC institutions enroll in online courses offered elsewhere. Meeting that goal required dozens of real-time web services and integrations to exchange class, registration and grade data across campuses—work that would have taken more than seven months to build manually and would divert resources from application development and modernization.
UNC-Chapel Hill implemented Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (Cloud Data Integration and Cloud Application Integration) and prebuilt connectors for Oracle and REST to automate and consolidate integrations. The university has deployed more than 50 integrations, cut development time by 50–60%, and can bring web services into production about four times faster—making real-time enrollment and cross-campus course registration easier, expanding students’ course options, and helping them graduate on time.
