Transformation Insurance Generali Goes Digital with a Trusted Data Foundation

Generali, one of the world’s largest insurers, embarked on a digital transformation that starts with how data is collected and managed. As data volumes grew across lines of business, the company needed to raise employee awareness of data governance, eliminate manual spreadsheet-based processes, organize and catalog enterprise data for easy discovery, and improve insured and policy data quality to feed a new Analytics Solution Center.

Generali piloted Informatica Axon Data Governance and Enterprise Data Catalog in Spain to automate governance, scan and catalog assets, and integrate data quality for holistic management. The solution sped up governance workflows, saved time for 35 data owners and 45 data stewards, enabled simple search with full lineage, increased data reliability and ownership, and laid the groundwork for analytics-driven use cases such as fraud detection, claims automation, and customer targeting.
