Washington state's Education Research and Data Center (ERDC) set out to improve K–12 through postsecondary and workforce outcomes by creating a single, longitudinal view of each student. Backed by a $17M grant to build a P‑20 integrated education system, ERDC struggled with integrating large, inconsistent datasets from multiple agencies—manual consolidation took four months and data issues (non‑standard dates and SSNs, missing fields) undermined causal analysis.

By deploying Informatica (MDM, Data Quality, PowerCenter and professional services) ERDC built a clean, consistent, connected data foundation that sped integration and improved record quality. The solution supported identification of 100+ policy questions and enabled 10 research studies and four legislative reports in the past year, strengthening data‑driven policymaking.
