Sutter Health is a not‑for‑profit network of community-based healthcare providers serving 100+ Northern California communities with hospitals, physician groups, home health, hospice and long‑term care. Leadership recognized that fragmented, siloed data across the system—poor quality, inconsistent governance and slow access—was blocking efforts to deliver more personalized, affordable, and coordinated care.
To address this, Sutter implemented an enterprise information management program with a data lake, self‑service analytics and a “One Sutter” CRM, supported by Informatica PowerCenter, Data Quality, Multidomain MDM and ILM. By deploying five MDM domains in nine months and standardizing data governance, the organization created a trusted, connected patient and provider view, accelerated analytics (including an AIM pilot), reduced IT bottlenecks, and improved decision‑making, patient experience and operational efficiency.
