A Informatica Case Study
MCPS‑PRS Alliance, the UK organization that ensures composers, lyricists and publishers are paid when their music is played, needed to match playlists to its works database to make accurate royalty payments across thousands of productions, songwriters and songs. The challenge was reconciling massive volumes of incoming data from multiple sources and fixing variations in how names and works were reported (e.g., “LENNON” vs. “JOHN LENNON/PAUL McCARTNEY”) while maintaining extreme accuracy.
Using Informatica Identity Resolution, MCPS‑PRS automated and improved its matching process, handling more than 200,000 searches per day and processing over 50 million matches in the first year. The solution resolved multiple data variations, eliminated many manual checks, and significantly improved the accuracy and efficiency of royalty reconciliation.
