Kmart Australia, a national value retailer that designs and develops most of its own products, needed to move far more of its assortment online and expand into B2B selling. Before the project only about 6% of its range was available to buy online, publishing a SKU took around 10 days, product data was incomplete or lost during handoffs, and a large share of the product team’s time was spent on manual checks and approvals.

Kmart implemented Informatica MDM - Product 360 and Informatica Data Quality, integrated with its ERP and external vendors to centralize PIM, automate data checks and image assignment, and enable collaborative portals for contributors. Within months the retailer put 98% of its 45,000+ SKUs online, became 4x faster to market, tripled team productivity, expanded reach rapidly and moved into B2B—resulting in a fourfold increase in online sales and significant business growth.
