ScottishPower, an international energy company serving the UK, US and western Canada with more than 5.2 million UK customers, needed to increase retail billing accuracy, improve customer service and reduce the cost to serve. The core challenge was that meter readings captured during scheduled visits often failed validation due to misaligned data across systems, preventing accurate consumption data from reaching the billing application.

By deploying Informatica Data Quality and consolidating a data quality framework across 12 applications, ScottishPower validated and passed meter readings through to billing, replacing estimated bills with actuals.
