Informatica Helps Nanjing Children’s Hospital Achieve Information Exchange and Sharing

Nanjing Children’s Hospital, a large tertiary pediatric hospital affiliated with Nanjing Medical University, faced fragmented data spread across dozens of heterogeneous systems (HIS, LIS, PACS, EMR, mobile nursing, finance, logistics, etc.). Point-to-point, tightly coupled interfaces made data exchange slow, error-prone and costly, complicating clinical workflows, reporting to health authorities and the hospital’s plans for BI-driven management.

The hospital implemented an Informatica solution (PowerCenter and PowerExchange) to build a unified data integration platform, data warehouse and public data resources repository with real-time CDC capture and master-data standardization. The result: centralized, standardized data sharing with looser coupling, faster data extraction, lower management costs, higher data quality and BI-ready reporting — benefiting over 1,000 clinicians with quicker access to exams and reports and improved treatment efficiency and clinical quality.
