A Informatica Case Study
Ochsner Health System, southeast Louisiana’s largest healthcare delivery system with 8 hospitals, more than 38 health centers, 12,500 staff and 850 physicians, needed to streamline patient care, empower patients, and improve outcomes. Key challenges included creating a single, shared view of critical data for business intelligence, supporting data masking, and improving data quality across a complex, distributed environment.
Ochsner implemented the Informatica platform—standardizing integration with PowerCenter, improving trust in data with Data Quality, enabling access with PowerExchange, and using Address Verification, Global Geocoding and the Informatica Velocity methodology—to cleanse, unify, secure, and deliver data. The result was a single shared data view for analytics, higher‑quality and appropriately masked patient data, accelerated project delivery, better patient–provider communication, increased nurse time with patients, improved care coordination, and easier, evidence‑based treatment ordering.
