A Informatica Case Study
Fannie Mae, which enables home buying, refinancing and renting at scale, needed to meet post‑2008 regulatory requirements (including Dodd‑Frank) and provide accurate quarterly reporting to the Federal Reserve and investors. The company faced the challenge of integrating clean, traceable data from more than 100 sources—mortgage records, property attributes and securities—and ensuring end‑to‑end lineage and user‑level traceability at the loan, security and property subject‑area levels.
To address this, Fannie Mae implemented a high‑availability, scalable data quality platform using Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Data Quality, with Informatica MetaData Manager for business glossaries and lineage and a planned Informatica Master Data Manager deployment. The solution established consistent, auditable data flows and improved data quality and traceability to support regulatory reporting, risk management and better business decision‑making.
