A Informatica Case Study
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, through its Moon Shots Program, needed to accelerate cancer research and personalized medicine by aggregating hugely disparate longitudinal clinical, research and genomic data, defining enterprise data governance, and enabling self‑service analytics to empower scientific and clinical collaboration and speed clinical‑trial cohort selection.
By deploying an Informatica‑powered big data analytics platform (PowerCenter, Data Quality, MDM, plus professional services and support) MD Anderson centralized and secured clinical and genomics data, enforced governance, and enabled collaborative self‑service BI. Within a year the platform had collected and analyzed patient samples to identify genetic signatures of disease and dramatically reduced cohort selection time from weeks to minutes, accelerating discovery and clinical decision support.
