Case Study: AXA XL achieves faster analytics and profitable cross-sell growth with Informatica

A Informatica Case Study

Preview of the AXA XL Case Study

How AXA XL Is Using Big Data to Streamline Customer Product Offering

AXA XL, the commercial P&C and specialty insurance business formed after AXA’s acquisition of XL Group, sells globally through brokers and managing general underwriters. Rapid M&A growth had left data fragmented in silos, making analytics slow, expensive, and labor-intensive; the company needed to democratize data discovery and preparation, find cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and get faster, trusted insights to drive profitable growth.

AXA XL built a cloud-based Data Ecosystem & Engagement Platform (DEEP) on Azure and deployed Informatica’s Big Data Management, Big Data Quality, Enterprise Data Catalog, and Enterprise Data Preparation to integrate, govern, cleanse, catalog, and enable self-service data prep. The initiative created a single source of truth, reduced time and cost for analytics, empowered actuaries and analysts with self-service tools, accelerated product introductions, improved cross-sell/upsell execution, and boosted investment returns while lowering expense ratios.
