Feeding America Maximizes Food Distribution with Cloud Data Warehousing and Analytics

Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief nonprofit with a network of more than 200 food banks serving over 40 million people, needed to modernize how it manages donation, demand, and logistics data. Because member food banks used disparate systems and Feeding America relied on quarterly survey data, the organization lacked a real-time national view and couldn’t quickly re-route supplies or scale its response in a crisis.

Feeding America deployed Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (including Cloud Data Integration) to bring live data from internal systems, NetSuite, Salesforce and member food banks into a Google BigQuery cloud warehouse and Tableau for analytics. The solution enabled real-time decision-making and streamlined reporting, helping the nonprofit scale rapidly during COVID‑19—processing 20× more financial donations, handling 6× more food transportation requests and 7× more grocery orders—while improving donation tracking and reducing food waste.
