EMC, a global provider of cloud and IT-as-a-Service solutions, embarked on a major transformation—consolidating hundreds of systems and data from more than 70 acquired companies. Rapid data growth, complex ingestion and integration needs, and immature data quality threatened IT agility and the company’s ability to deliver timely, trustworthy information to the business.

EMC implemented a broad Informatica solution to identify, cleanse, transform and feed data into a global data warehouse, retiring 65 legacy systems and migrating to 20 SAP modules across 300+ sites. The program cleansed, archived and purged over 100 million records and introduced an “Infopedia” business glossary for analytics and governance. As a result, data delivery times dropped from days to hours or minutes, data quality and collaboration improved, and EMC gained greater agility and business value.
