SHARIS, an e-commerce service provider that manages online shop operations for clients such as Deutsche Telekom and T-Systems, faced frequent incorrect customer addresses caused by differently structured order forms. Those inaccuracies—especially for international shipments—led to delayed or undeliverable orders, higher logistics costs, and unhappy customers.
To fix this, SHARIS integrated AddressDoctor’s Interactive Web Services in 2004 to validate and correct addresses in real time at registration (via a simple SOAP API with global country coverage and monthly database updates). The solution reduced undeliverable shipments, lowered logistics expenses, helped prevent fraud, and improved overall customer satisfaction.
