Connected Data Helps Intermountain Healthcare Deliver Value-Based Care

Intermountain Healthcare, the largest provider in Utah and southern Idaho, needed to move from fee-for-service to value-based care while managing rapidly growing, fragmented data from EMRs, claims, affiliates and other systems. The organization sought to simplify end-user access, improve data quality, reduce redundant reporting, and support a new Digital Front Door portal that required near‑real‑time patient data ingestion.

Intermountain deployed Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog, Intelligent Cloud Services, PowerCenter and Data Engineering Integration/Quality, with Informatica Professional Services guiding the migration and governance strategy. The work created a searchable inventory for ~250 analysts, enabled loading 300 CSV files in 10 minutes (down from a week), converted ~5,000 batch jobs, and delivered faster, higher-quality data to the patient portal—helping improve population health and empowering patients to access care, billing and financial-assistance information.
