A Informatica Case Study
CHRISTUS Health is an international, not‑for‑profit Catholic health system of more than 60 hospitals, 175 clinics and 30,000 associates focused on improving patient care. As care shifted to value-based and chronic disease models, clinical and operational data volumes exploded and became trapped in isolated, non‑standardized silos, making it difficult to govern, aggregate and deliver the right information to the right people without heavy manual effort.
CHRISTUS implemented an enterprise BI program — including a healthcare data warehouse, enterprise information management (Informatica), Teradata and MicroStrategy — through a phased rollout aligned with clinical leaders. The initiative enabled systemwide CPOE dashboards (covering 13 million orders), drove improvements in mortality and length of stay with readmissions trending down, delivered over $500,000 in early supply‑chain savings, reduced ED wait times, and gave clinicians and leaders immediate, secure access to integrated data across the enterprise.
