A Informatica Case Study
China Life Property and Casualty Insurance (founded 2006 with CNY 8 billion registered capital) is a core member of China Life Group providing property, liability, credit, health and reinsurance products. Rapid business growth exposed limits in its centralized data analysis platform: inconsistent indicators across systems, chaotic master data and coding, no unified ETL planning or data governance, overloaded ETL windows, and inaccurate queries that increased communication costs and delayed decision-making.
After proof-of-concept testing, the company deployed Informatica PowerCenter to centralize and integrate data from Oracle, SAP, SQL Server and other sources, add real-time ETL monitoring, SAP interfaces and parallel processing. The implementation delivered unified indicators and master-data control, higher-quality data, faster and more accurate queries, a bulk data-exchange center, multiple analysis marts and dashboards, and the ability to process ~4 TB of data overnight (ETL completed by 7:00 a.m.), improving operational efficiency, decision support and overall business satisfaction.
