A Informatica Case Study
Braskem, the largest petrochemical company in Latin America producing over 16 million metric tons of thermoplastic resins annually, needed to modernize its factory operations without disrupting a deeply embedded SAP ERP foundation. The company aimed to move toward a microservices-based architecture, adopt IoT and cloud-based facial recognition, and simplify hybrid data and API management so IT and business teams could accelerate digital transformation with minimal risk.
Working with partner Orys, Braskem deployed Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services—including Cloud Data Integration, Cloud Application Integration, and API Manager—to integrate SAP and on-premises systems with multi-cloud apps like Salesforce, Coupa, and Vendavo. The platform empowered nontechnical staff to build integrations, enabled real-time and batch data flows, and exposed APIs that feed Azure facial-recognition and IoT sensors, improving equipment visibility, reducing downtime, and speeding Braskem’s move to a more agile, cloud-enabled manufacturing environment.
