Bouwmaat, a leading Dutch building materials wholesaler with 46 stores and a 12,000‑item catalog, set out to modernize into a true multichannel retailer. Key challenges included harmonizing the existing website with the digital catalog, consolidating customer data, adding online credit‑card payments, routing orders between the distribution center and outlets, and managing complex product information consistently across channels.
Partnering with Eperium and using Informatica PIM, Bouwmaat launched a new online store fed from a single, centralized product information source. The solution publishes all 12,000 products consistently across web, print and stores, supports secure credit‑card payments and pickup-or-delivery fulfillment, improves search and navigation, boosts customer availability and loyalty, and enables future supplier-driven longtail expansion.
