Koenig & Bauer Industrial, the manufacturing service provider for the Koenig & Bauer printing press group, faced rigid production planning and delivery date challenges due to its reliance on traditional target scheduling. During a transition to SAP ERP, they partnered with vendor INFORM to implement a centralized, detailed planning system to increase transparency and streamline operations across multiple sites.

INFORM implemented its FELIOS Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) system, which integrates with SAP as an add-on. The software calculates optimized production sequences using real-time capacity data. As a result, Koenig & Bauer Industrial significantly reduced throughput times and greatly improved cross-departmental transparency and communication efficiency.
